Smashing Pumpkins Reunited With James Iha for First Concert in 16 Years

The original lineup (minus D'arcy Wretzky) performed Siamese Dream songs in Los Angeles

Last night, fans attending the Smashing Pumpkins' show at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles were treated to a surprise: Billy Corgan took the stage with founding guitarist James Iha for the first time since the band's breakup in 2000. They performed songs from 1993's Siamese Dream. During the set, drummer Jimmy Chamberlain joined them, making it so all of the original Smashing Pumpkins members except D'arcy Wretzky were performing together. It was also Iha's birthday; during the encore, the band surprised him with cake and led the crowd in singing "Happy Birthday." Watch them perform "Mayonaise," "Soma," and "Whir." Update (3/28, 10:41 a.m. EST): Iha joined the band once again for another set at Ace Hotel last night. Find some footage below.
