The all-star lineup of Trent Reznor, his longtime collaborator Atticus Ross, Mogwai, and Argentine film composer Gustavo Santaolalla have teamed up to score the new documentary film Before the Flood, which is about Leonardo DiCaprio's climate change activism. Reznor and Ross served as both the film's music supervisors as well as composers, working with Santaolalla and the members of Mogwai on the score, which will be released as an album next month.
Directed by actor/director Fisher Stevens, Before the Flood "chronicles Leonardo DiCaprio's campaign to raise global awareness about the dangers of climate change in his role as a UN Ambassador of Peace," according to the film's description.
In a press release, Stevens said:
Before the Flood premiered today at the Toronto International Film Festival. It comes to New York and Los Angeles theaters on October 21 and will air on the National Geographic Channel on October 30.
