Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar will all take the stage at the Pepsi Super Bowl LVI halftime show. The news was announced by all of the artists, Pepsi, and the NFL on Thursday afternoon. The performance is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2022 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

“The opportunity to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show, and to do it in my own backyard, will be one of the biggest thrills of my career,” Dr. Dre said in a press release. “I’m grateful to Jay-Z, Roc Nation, the NFL, and Pepsi as well as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar for joining me in what will be an unforgettable cultural moment.”

Jay-Z’s Roc Nation is co-producing the 2022 halftime show telecast and also advising on the “strategic entertainment” of the live performance. “This is history in the making,” Jay-Z said in a statement.

The Super Bowl announcement arrives not long after Kendrick Lamar’s earlier news that he has a new album on the way, although he hasn’t shared any other release details. Dr. Dre wrote that the performance “will introduce the next saga of [his] career.”

The Weeknd recently released a making-of documentary about his sprawling pandemic-friendly halftime show last year.
