Richard Spencer is a white nationalist who helps lead the alt-right—a movement that embraces an ideology of white nationalism. Yesterday he got punched in the face on live TV while talking about the symbolism of Pepe the Frog. Now, Tim Heidecker (of Tim & Eric) has shared a new song about the incident. “You can’t wish anyone dead, even if the baseball cap is red,” he sings, “But if you see Richard Spencer, why don’t you punch him in the head.” Listen to the Randy Newman-style piano ballad below.
“Richard Spencer” is not the first tune that Heidecker has penned in response to recent events: he released “Trump’s Pilot” in November as part of the as part of the “30 Days, 50 Songs” campaign. Shortly after, it was covered by Father John Misty. Heidecker is also scheduled to contribute to Our First 100 Days, a new compilation that will release one new song each day for the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency.
