Maynard James Keenan—the frontman of Tool and A Perfect Circle—has given an update on the next Tool album. He took to Twitter today to share insight into the band’s progress. “Started getting music files from the boys w the word FINAL in the title a few months ago after 11 years of begging,” he wrote. “Words & Melodies 100% DONE on all but 1. Someday we’ll track them. Long way from the finish line, but at least we’re closer.” See the tweets below. Tool’s last album was 2006’s 10,000 Days. Last year, Tool sparked rumors of a new album by posting a mysterious teaser. Keenan later shut them down, saying that a new Tool record would not arrive in 2017.

Meanwhile, A Perfect Circle are set to release their new album Eat the Elephant on April 20. It marks their first studio album in 14 years, following 2004’s eMOTIVe. It features their previously released singles “The Doomed” and “Disillusioned.”
