Father John Misty stopped by “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” last night to perform “Mr. Tillman.” For the televised rendition of the song, he was backed by the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus. Watch it happen below.

The episode also featured an unexpected reference to experimental pop stalwart Cornelius. During his recurring “Screengrabs” segment, Fallon was told by a viewer that he looks like Japanese producer Keigo Oyamada. See if you agree below (around the 6:30 mark).

Joshua Tillman recently released a wild new music video for “Mr. Tillman,” as well as two more songs, “Just Dumb Enough to Try” and “Disappointing Diamonds Are the Rarest of Them All.” All three songs appear on his forthcoming album God’s Favorite Customer, which is out June 1. Beginning May 11, he kicks off an extensive tour behind the LP—check out his full itinerary. His last album, Pure Comedy, came out last year.
