Jack White recently delivered the keynote speech at Detroit’s “Making Vinyl” event. During his talk, he discussed the state of the vinyl industry and the operations of his record label Third Man. In addition, he gave an update on his upcoming solo album (which he previously hinted would be “good gardening music or roofing music or, you know, back-alley stabbing music”). According to Billboard, White said the record is “practically done.” “It’s a bizarre one,” he continued, “I’ve just got to let it settle. I need to listen to it by myself. I haven't been able to listen to it by myself for awhile.” Jack White’s last solo album, Lazaretto, arrived in 2014.

During the talk, White also revealed that Third Man almost pressed the vinyl edition of Beyoncé’s 2016 album Lemonade, which featured a collaboration with White in the track “Don’t Hurt Yourself.” “For some reason it didn't happen,” he said.
