Yesterday, it was revealed that Frank Ocean’s pair of 2016 albums–Blonde and Endless–are not eligible for the 2017 Grammys. Although both were released before the September 30, 2016 cutoff date for eligibility, Ocean missed the deadline for submission, which is not publicly known. Now, a source close to the situation has told Billboard that Ocean and his team intentionally did not submit the records for Grammy consideration. Pitchfork has reached out to Frank Ocean’s representatives for more information.

In 2013, Frank Ocean performed at the 55th Grammys. He was also nominated for a number of awards, winning Best Urban Contemporary Album for Channel Orange and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with Kanye West and Jay Z for “No Church in the Wild.”
