No Jumper host Adam22 (Adam Grandmaison) has been dropped by Atlantic Records, The Daily Beast reports. “Atlantic Records and Adam22 have parted ways,” an Atlantic representative told Pitchfork in a statement. Grandmaison had his own No Jumper Records imprint on Atlantic.
Last March, Grandmaison faced sexual assault allegations from an anonymous woman. He took to Twitter to dispute the claims. Later that month, Pitchfork spoke to two women who shared their accounts of alleged sexual assault and other misconduct by Grandmaison. Both sets of accusations occurred not long after Adam22 announced his partnership with Atlantic.
At the time, an Atlantic spokesperson said, “We take any allegations of this nature very seriously and we are looking into them.” In October, The Daily Beast reported further details of the accusations against Adam22, plus another woman’s allegation that he gave her Xanax when she was inebriated, had sex with her, and videotaped it without her consent. Adam22 has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing.
Adam22 responded to the news about Atlantic in a new 18-minute YouTube video. He claimed that his No Jumper imprint with Atlantic was a one-year deal “and the one-year mark just hit.” He added that the deal ending “wasn’t really based on the accusations.” He continued, “I won’t deny that it made Atlantic kind of uncomfortable and made it sort of complicated for them to continue to work with me.” Adam22 and his girlfriend Lena Nersesian (Lena the Plug), who said she was present on the night in question, then denied the allegations from the woman who claimed to be drugged and videotaped without her consent.
