Back in March, BBC Two announced a Whitney Houston documentary called Whitney, directed by Nick Broomfield (the filmmaker behind Kurt and Courtney). Shortly after its announcement, the iconic singer's family said the estate had "no involvement" in the project. Now, Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald has been tasked with directing the first authorized Whitney Houston documentary, Variety reports. It will include an interview with Arista Records founder Clive Davis, who played a significant role in Houston's success. In addition, Macdonald said they "have access to never-before-seen footage of Whitney," as well as "three decades of her music including exclusive demo recordings, rare performances and audio archive."
