TOKiMONSTA—aka L.A.-based producer Jennifer Lee—has shared a new video for “I Wish I Could” featuring Selah Sue. It’s directed by previous collaborator Mitchell deQuilettes (who’s also made videos for Childish Gambino, Flume, Frank Ocean, and others). The new clip follows an E.R. physician (played by Isabelle Yamin) as she struggles to cope with the emotional distress of trauma treatment, as well as the state of the U.S. healthcare system. Watch below. In a statement, Lee said, “It means a lot to me to finally put visuals to a song that is so significant to me. After undergoing two brain surgeries and being unable to create, this song was the very first song I was able to complete upon my recovery.”

Lee’s two brain surgeries were to treat Moyamoya, the rare brain disease with which she was diagnosed in 2015. The surgeries caused her temporarily to lose her speaking and musical abilities. Lee wrote her 2017 album Lune Rouge (which features “I Wish I Could”) after she recovered.
