San Francisco’s Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival has announced they will offer onsite sales and consumption of cannabis products at the festival this weekend. The separate, 21+ area will feature two dozen cannabis vendors.

California state law does not permit the smoking of cannabis where tobacco is not allowed, and tobacco smoking is illegal in Golden Gate Park. The Department Of Public Health has issued a temporary waiver to the no-smoking law, and the California Bureau of Cannabis Control and the San Francisco Office of Cannabis each issued permits for the festival on Wednesday, just two days before the festival is set to begin. Tobacco sale and use in the park remains illegal.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, festival-goers will be permitted to purchase up to “7 grams of non-concentrated cannabis, like dry plant material, and 2 grams of cannabis concentrates, which are found in vape pens and edibles.”
