Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig has shared some more information about the band’s upcoming album, their first in 6 years. The new album is no longer titled Mitsubishi Macchiato, and instead will bear the initials “FOTB.” (An exact title has yet to be announced.) According to his Instagram post, Vampire Weekend plan to release “three 2-song drops every month until the record is out,” beginning next week. “FOTB” will also be a double album. Last year, Vampire Weekend played their first festival shows in several years before revamping their website, returning to Instagram, and playing further, informal shows. “FOTB” marks their first album without founding member Rostam Batmanglij, who left the band in 2016. “My identity as a songwriter and producer, I realized, needs to stand on its own,” he said in a note.
