Aphex Twin has used the same logo since 1992, when Selected Ambient Works 85-92 was released with the now-iconic symbol prominently displayed on the cover. The logo has been used in recent years to tease at upcoming Aphex activity, such as when it was spray-painted on sidewalks in New York City ahead of the release of Syro. Now, the designer of Aphex Twin’s logo and typeface, Paul Nicholson, has shared the original blueprints and illustration details of some of his Aphex designs on Instagram, as Fact points out. “The original Aphex Twin logo was drawn by hand using circle templates and rulers in late 1991,” he explained. “With there being many incorrect versions of this lettering floating about, I thought it about time to release the definitive logo construction.” Check out his posts below.
